What’s in your handmade soaps?

We sell all natural soaps that are made with the finest oils. Most will include; saponified oils of soybean, olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, spring water, sodium hydroxide and fragrance.

Are your soaps tested on animals?

No, Luxurious Lathers does not purchase from suppliers who use animals to test their products.

What size are your soaps?

Each soap is sliced fresh from the raw loaf. It’s approximately 1″ thick by 3″ wide and 2.5″ tall and is 4.0 – 4.5 ounces net weight.

How long do your soaps last?

Most of our customers say a bar of our soap lasts them between 3-4 weeks. This is based on normal use and how you maintain the soap. The soaps have wonderful smells and some may lather up several times to recapture the smell and extend their bathing experience which of course will cause the soap to not last as long.

What should I do to make the soap last longer?

Let your soap dry out between uses, by putting your soap on some kind of a soap dish that allows air to circulate around the bar. A ‘proper’ soap dish will either raise the bar up for air to circulate from beneath, or contain air holes for drainage of water below the soap.

How long does your soap stay fresh?

Typically the soaps we carry have been known to last for years, however to get the best use of the fragrance we recommend that you enjoy your soaps within six months of purchase. Since there are no preservatives in the soaps we sell, you should protect them from humidity and extreme temperatures of heat and cold.

Do you sell soaps for skin types that are allergic to fragrance?

Yes, our Goat Milk and Oatmeal Soap is an unscented soap and best used for sensitive skin types as well as our shea butter soap.

What’s the best way for someone with sensitive skin to try your products?

For customers who have had adverse experiences with other soap products, we recommend that you start off with our unscented soaps before purchasing any other products. We offer the option of purchasing a guest-size soap that will allow you to try our sample size before investing in a soap of your choice.

Can I wash my hair with your soap?

Yes. Our soaps contain essential oils that will provide conditioning for your hair and scalp. You should first test out which soap gives your hair the look and feel you want. Regular soaps are generally used as shampoo bars by people with oiler scalp and hair. We recommend customers with dry hair and scalp to try our goat milk or shea butter soaps.

When will my order be shipped out?

We normally ship individual customer orders within 72 hours on regular business days, however during high peak seasons like Christmas it may take longer.

Back orders are rare, but if a requested item is put on back order, we try to contact our customers as soon as possible via e-mail. We cannot necessarily guarantee any ship dates at that time, but we will try to give you an accurate estimated arrival date. Note that if you order several items and only one item is on backorder, a partial shipment will often be sent as a courtesy if you are located in the US or Canada. The backordered item will be forwarded to you automatically when it is received into stock. Orders paid using a Paypal account are paid in full at the time an order is placed. You will not see any additional transactions for Paypal orders once the backordered item ships out to you.

I received your soap as a gift, can I exchange it?

We want you to be 100% satisfied, so yes, you can. Return your items un-used item in re-sellable condition within three days from when you received your purchase and we will exchange it for another item of your choice less shipping costs. Luxurious Lathers will not cover the return shipping expenses. Contact us for return authorization before you pack up the item(s), and we’ll guide you from there. Do I need to create an account to buy from your store?

No, you do not need to set up an account. But we strongly encourage you to register. It will help expedite your checkout process and also provide you with many benefits, like your very own order history for easy re-orders, wish lists and easier checkouts in the future.
